What a find! Jumped of the highway to get gas and a bite to eat and stumbled across the Millstone. Outstanding food, great service and a friendly owner.
Drinks came out at the same time as the appetizer. We didn't even have water at that point. Dinner took quite a long time to come out as well. Waitress was quite nice just kind of slow.
And has reasonable prices and the staff is terrific the portions are tremendous
Perhaps our discomfort in the small booth clouded our opinions, but the service was wretched, the drinks were weak, and the food was mediocre at best. People on vacation tend to overlook and forgive inconsistencies, and although we aren't exactly "tourists," we might have been more understanding if we had been treated with a modicum of consideration. Although you might have to travel a few extra minutes, there are far better restaurants in the region where you can get a good meal and receive attentive, pleasant service.
I would eat here again regardless as the food was excellent!!!
When the 4 of us arrived for our 7:30 p.m. reservation, the restaurant was doing a brisk business, but it was far from capacity. We were promptly seated in a booth that proved to be a tight fit for 4 tall men. There were several tables open, which would have accommodated us much more comfortably, but when we asked to move to one of those, we were informed that they were "reserved." To our annoyance, those tables were never filled, and by 8:00 pm (the restaurant closes at 9:00 pm) the dining room had emptied substantially, but we still weren't permitted to move. I'm not sure why you would want to purposefully antagonize your paying customers, but that's what they did.

Food was pretty decent especially if you order off the daily menu, but our server just didn't know how to do her job! I'm giving this place 3 stars because of the bad service experience. The front hostess was amazing+ very accommodating and the locals seemed to love the place.
I plan on going back. Food was excellent. Atmosphere was very nice. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is the service when we sent the weekend after labor day on Saturday night was quite slow. We got app drinks dinner desert and it took 2 hours. We weren't in a huge rush but it was still a bit slow.
